The Autumn Sedum proved popular again this year and was visited by many butterflies, bees and other various insects.  I captured this Honeybee enjoying it.

With everything in bloom, the Honeybees are out and about.  I captured this one visiting my Crabapple.  This tree was absolutely full of flowers and was just gorgeous.  I am glad the bees were able to make use of it's beautiful blooms.

Today is supposed to be a bit warmer, maybe we will get rid of some of this snow.  😏  I decided on a nice spring picture for today.  This is a Honey bee that was visiting the Dandelions last spring.

Happy Monday and happy new week!  It's the last Monday of 2024.  Today's image is of something that is always good to see because they are struggling.  These are Honey Bees that were visiting my Autumn Sedum in early September for some nourishment.  The Sedum is always popular with bees and butterflies.  We need to plant more things that these enjoy to help them along.

Happy Friday, TGIF!  I was able to capture my first Honeybee this past week.  It turned cold again after that though it is supposed to be warming up by today.  Anyway, I captured it enjoying the Grape Hyacinths that grow in the yard and have to be over 30 years old because they were there before I moved in.  Also, I am sharing this image today due to the nice bit of bubbly bokeh because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!

Today's image is one I was able to get on a visit last year to the Overland Park Arboretum.  The Arboretum has several different types of Peony flowers and as I was photographing this variety I was photo-bombed by this honeybee.  😁

We had snow again and it's very wintry now so wishing spring was here.  I felt like a nice butterfly shot for the day.  This one had a bonus of a Honeybee as well coming in to enjoy the Crab Apple blossoms.  The butterfly is one of the earliest I usually see in spring, a Red Admiral.

I saw my first Honeybees of the year around the Grape Hyacinths.  They really seem to enjoy these flowers or it could just be that there isn't a lot to choose from.  I think it's the former though as I enjoy the smell of them as well.

I captured today's image while out on Konza Prairie.  I had heard of this before but had never seen it in person until that evening.  This was a huge swarm of Honeybees in the crook of a tree.  I heard they do this when they leave one hive and are in the process of finding another place to make one.  This was on a Friday evening and when I went by on Sunday there was absolutely no evidence they had ever been there.

The Grape Hyacinths are quite the bee magnet.  It's great to see Honeybees around since they are endangered.  I was able to get this closeup of one flying towards one of the flowers.

The honeybees are out and about once again and it is great to see them.  They love the little Grape Hyacinths I have growing in the side yard and provide photo opportunities every spring.

Bee butt!  😂  I was in Missouri this past weekend and the Dogwood tree at my in-law's home was in bloom and was just full of flowers and lovely.  You could hear the bees buzzing around the flowers and I was able to capture a few of them.  This is one I captured as it flew off away from where I was.

Happy Thursday.  More honey bees and Crabapple blossoms for today.  The Crabapples are done blooming now but were quite beautiful while they lasted.  I was glad the bees enjoyed them too.

TGIF!  Another thing that was in bloom last weekend before the cold snap was one of my Crabapple trees.  It was just filled with white flowers and smelled wonderful.  As you walked close to it you could hear buzzing and I captured an image of why.  Here is a Honeybee moving among the blooms.  Because of the lovely bokeh in this image I also shared it today because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!

I captured my first Honeybee of the year this past weekend.  I was over at my friend's home and they had some Grape Hyacinths blooming already and I captured this bee in flight while it was moving from flower to flower.  I was surprised I got it in focus, I thought I hadn't.

Today's image is one that I shot early this spring and never shared for some reason.  It's a sight I enjoy seeing in the spring, the bees back and enjoying the first flowers of spring on the trees.  This one is enjoying the blooms of an Ornamental Pear.  It will be awhile before we see this again in my area.

I captured a lot of nature enjoying the Autumn Sedum this year.  This is an image of 2 Honey Bees enjoying the blooms with a Metallic bee on the way in.
