 It's Valentine's Day!  Happy Saturday as well.  This is an artsy image of the roses I received last year.  Sometimes roses don't last very long but these were a good bunch and lasted well over a week.

 It's Friday, TGIF!  It's also Halloween!  I enjoy creating some kind of spooky image for the day and this is my effort for this year.  Hope you enjoy it!

 On Monday, the moon was full and is named the "Flower Moon" because of the abundance of flowers that are visible in May.  Because of the name I decided to do something artsy with the image that I took of it that night before I went to bed.  Hope you enjoy my take on the Flower Moon.

 It's the last day of October.  It's also Halloween here in this country which is a fun day of decorations and candy.  😂  Today's image is just a fun creation I photoshopped  together of some decorations I saw this past week and an abandoned house in PA.

 Happy Halloween everyone!  Hope you have a fun day!  A bit of trivia.  Halloween is a contraction of All Hallows' Eve which is the evening before All Saints' Day, also known as All Hallows' Day.  Halloween has it's roots in the ancient Celtic festival 0f Samhain which was a pagan religious celebration to welcome harvest at the end of summer.

 Happy New Year's Eve!  We made it to the end of 2022.  It was a long year in some ways and it went very fast in others.  Hopefully the next year will be better.  We shall see what it brings.  About the photo, yes I am quite the party animal.  😉

 It's Steamy Sunday here on the Blog!  Today's image is another effort at Tilt/Shift processing.  Once again I used an image from the Cumbres & Toltec Railway and I think it turned out fairly well.  The effect is to give the subject a sort of toy quality.  These types of photos are best viewed larger by clicking on the image.

 We had a gorgeous sunrise during the last week of September.  The sky was filled with great light and color.  This is a 2 image pano that is actually looking to the west.

 Happy May Day!  Today's image is not real.  I took both photos that this is made from but not at the same time.  This is a good example of how you should not believe a lot of the images you see on the internet.  If they are just too good to believe, they probably are faked.  Rarely does everything come together just perfectly.  I have a new photo program and I was playing with it and found how, actually, ridiculously easy it is to produce a more dramatic image than what mostly comes out of the camera.  It dawned on me even more that a really stunning photo is most likely not "real".  Not that this one is stunning but it had more visual interest to me than eith of the images it was made from had on their own.

A rainbow image I took over a field a year or two ago merged with a windmill I shot recently while on a bike ride.

 It's the first Steamy Sunday of 2021!  As always, I have to start off the new year with my favorite railroad.  This is another pencil effect image I did of the Cumbres & Toltec Railway train.  I look forward to being able to travel and ride this railway again.  It's quite a fun experience to travel like the old days through parts of southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.

 It's Steamy Sunday here on the Blog and the last one of the year.  I have to share my favorite railroad to end the year.  This is from my last trip there on my 30th anniversary in 2018, wow, can't believe it has been that long already.  Anyway, I decided to apply the pencil technique to it for something different and I liked the result.  I took this image while we were riding the train.

 Happy last day of October and Happy Halloween as well!  I hope the rest of this winter is not quite as bad as October was with temps in the teens already.  Yuck.  I decided I needed a fun picture for today so I hope you enjoy it.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday!  This wildflower has been very abundant and has lasted quite a long time but is just about finished for the year.  I love to photograph it as I think it's details and delicate look make for a lovely subject.  Even from behind, as this was shot makes for a lovely subject.  This is Queen Anne's Lace.  I have saved some seeds to plant in my garden and hopefully get them to grow there next year.

Today is the last day of 2019 and the last day of the teen years.  The decade is not actually over until a year from now but heading into the 20s seems pretty significant.  I hope this year was a good one for you and I hope the year to come will be even better.  May it bring you health and happiness.

Hello and Happy Halloween!  Hope you have a fun and safe time!  I enjoy seeing all the kids in their costumes.  Might be a bit chilly for them here as we may have snow.  I am writing this earlier in the week and that is what the forecast called for.  Stay warm out there too!

Well, we received a lot of rain today, which as I write this is Tuesday.  The ponds are nice and full and everything I have planted so far is well watered.  Nice.  I thought I would share something whimsical.  Hope you enjoy it.  From my garden this weekend.

I am on Spring Break this week, it's earlier than usual but not sure why, so I will be posting earlier in the day.  I was trying to think of a different way to showcase the snowflakes I have been able to capture since I am limited in the amount of magnification I can get.  I came up with this idea and liked it.  These are 4 of the best snowflakes I was able to capture during a snowfall where they were clean and well formed.

We are seeing the sun today and warming up as well.  How nice.  I can post a shot from a very cold day last week.  Ice crystals had formed on the storm door in interesting patterns.  I thought this capture of some of them reminded of sea creatures.
