It's Friday, TGIF! Today's image is of one of my stalks of Salvia catching some lovely afternoon light. I loved the bubbly bokeh behind and so I chose this photo for today because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!

It's Spring, the Salvia is in bloom and the bees are visiting it. Here is a rather large Bumblebee I captured that was thoroughly enjoying the blooms.

I felt like something summery because it is just cold out and mostly dreary. This is a Bumblebee on my Salvia from this past May.

The Salvia is up and blooming. If you want an easy to care for plant that really attracts bees and butterflies, Salvia is a very good one. I shot this image the other day of a Bumblebee living up to the reputation of Busy As a Bee.

My Salvia is always rather popular with the bees and butterflies. This was a Cotton Square Borer enjoying it one afternoon. They are fairly small and usually in motion but this one posed for me for a bit. Their name is not very flattering either but I think they are fairly lovely.

It's Star Wars Day. May the 4th Be With You. 😁
My image today is of a Honey Bee that was busily working on the Salvia in my garden. It didn't seem to care that I was there wit my camera and getting fairly close to it. Salvia is a great plant for Spring especially because it blooms early and provides food for the bees and butterflies that are around early.

So we started out very wet today with over an inch of rain. Nice and cool too today which is odd for August but I'll take it. My image is from earlier in the year when the Honey Bees were out an about collecting pollen. I haven't seen them much so I hope they are finding flowers elsewhere. This is a capture of 3 of them busily working on the Salvia.

So I have been in Minnesota for the past few days and now heading back to the land of high heat. Going back to mid to high 90s from today where it's a lovely low 70s. Sigh. I don't care for Minnesota winters but the summers are nice. Except for the mosquitoes, their state bird. :-) My image for today is of the first Dragonfly I captured this year. It was enjoying my Salvia plant like many other things have. I don't know the type at the moment but must be a variety of Clearwing.

It's cooler out now and most likely more normal for this time of year so that's good I guess. It's great that we are finally getting some much needed moisture and not in the downpours some areas very close to us are getting. Another good thing is that the Honey Bees are around. I am finally seeing lots of them. The one I saw a while ago must have told his buddy where the good eats were because the Salvia has been loaded with them. I got this shot of this guy heading in for a drink.

Well, nice weather for the foreseeable future. Keeping fingers crossed that Spring Break week is the same. This image today comes from last summer and is of a Cabbage Worm Butterfly enjoying the Salvia I have planted. Salvia seems pretty popular with the butterflies. There almost always seems to be a butterfly of some kind on it which is a nice thing to see.
