10/12/22

It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Today's image is of some Asters that have established themselves at the edge of one of my gardens.  The butterflies and bees were really enjoying them this past weekend.  Asters are difficult to tell apart but I believe this variety is Hairy Aster.  The main stalk has very small hairs on it.  It blooms in September and October.  Asters are part of the Sunflower family.

  1. Most of ours that are that shade have finished a month or so ago. The deeper blue, that I call fall asters, are also showing some signs of wilting

    1. The white variety are more prevalent here. I see the blue type very rarely.

  2. Great capture, Shelly. Most of the flowers up my way are on the way out. A few are still holding onto their blooms.

    1. Thanks very much Tom! I am sure ours are all gone now as we had a very hard freeze this morning and will have another tomorrow morning.
