A Photo a Day Blog with Guides to Wildflowers and Butterflies in Kansas
It's another Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog! This one has been blooming quite a lot lately. It is a wild Pansy which is also called a Johnny Jump Up here in Kansas. Apparently the name refers to it's quick growth in the Spring.
I've never heard of this flower, nor can I recall see it. Very nice capture of it.
Thanks very much Tom!
Nice one Shelly. We have what we call Johnny Jump Ups here, only they are usually multi-coloured.Yours looks like our purple/violet violets
Thanks Jim! Yes, I think I saw one of your photos where it was pink. These are also known as Purple Violets.
