Happy Monday and happy new week!  My Poinsettia from last year is doing pretty well.  It turned back red and re-flowered very well.  I have it sitting in the front window and the sunlight was looking rather lovely on it.

Happy Monday and happy new week!  The Iris have started to bloom in my area as of early last week.  I love to see all the different colors of them.  I captured this one in some very late afternoon light.  I love that the purple ones have a grape smell to them.

Happy Monday and happy new week!  My Gerbera Daisy seems to be struggling while indoors for the winter as it is losing a large number of under leaves at various times.  This must be fairly normal though as it seems to be healthy due to the fact that it is flowering well.  I loved the way the blooms were catching the light about a week ago.

One of my favorite grasses is in it's prime right now.  This is an image of my Sea Oats Grass.  In late summer the seed heads turn a golden/brownish color and look lovely when backlit by the sun.  This image is from the group I planted by my Gazebo pond but I also had a surprise this year and I have a group of Sea Oats right in one of the beds in front of my deck that must have been planted by a bird as it is no where near close enough to have been the wind.

Happy Monday!  Today's image is one I took this summer of my Pickerel Rush in the Gazebo pond.  I loved the light on this that created the shadow of the flower on the leaf.

Happy Monday!  I loved the light on these Penstemons that grow by my Gazebo pond.  This is basically straight out of the camera with only a slight crop and resize.  I am not sure of the variety of Penstemon but they spread well or maybe too much depending on your point of view. 😉  I planted some in another area in the hope that they would spread there as well.

Happy Monday!  Only about 20 shopping days till Christmas, yikes, time is flying.  I have some African Violets in my Bay window and this one caught my eye one afternoon with how the sunlight was highlighting it so I had to try and capture it and I think it turned out fairly well.  I liked how it showed off the little hairs on the plant.  This is the first time this one will have flowered for me and I am curious to see what it's flowers will look like.

This is my favorite grass.  It photographs really well, especially when backlit.  This is called June Grass and I shot it last June out on Konza Prairie during a wildflower walk refresher.  Their annual Wildflower Walk is coming up on June 5 and is well worth it.  Beautiful views and lots of wildflowers to see.

My Iris are blooming and depending on the variety are at least halfway through though the cool weather we are experiencing may have slowed them down a bit.  This is one of my light purple ones backlit that I thought turned out rather pretty.  If you view large, you may be able to see that there is something hiding on this flower.  😄

Happy Monday and new week!  My mother-in-law had a lovely small blossomed Orchid that was in full bloom on Mother's Day.  I shot it with some strong sunlight from the back and I liked how it turned out.

It's Friday, TGIF!  Friday's are Bokehlicious as well!  Today's bokeh image is of a lovely backlit grass head that I captured last week while returning from a walk.  I love the detail in a backlit piece of grass.  I also loved the bubbly bokeh behind it as well.

I have my Geranium that I bought this last year in the house under a plant light that has a lot of red in it.  I use the light to start my tomatoes with but that won't be till a bit later so I am using it for this.  I liked the way it made the flowers even more vibrant and kind of seem to glow so took a photo of it the other day.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!  Happy Wednesday everyone as well!  This is an image I took at a light show in a park in St Joseph Missouri last year.  I thought it was fitting for me to share today.

My Zebra Grass' blooms have dried now and catch the sunlight in a lovely way.

It's the last day of August already.  Wow.  My image today is of some back-lit Teasels that had bloomed and dried.  I got them to grow in my garden, maybe a bit too well and I may regret it but for now I am enjoying them quite a bit,  Skippers and butterflies seemed to enjoy the blooms as well.  I love the flower head shapes when they dry.

Posting early today as we have a holiday today.  It's a blah, bitterly cold day, so I felt like a pop of color.  This is an older image I have never shared of some Kalanchoe blooms in light and shadow.  I have a great deal of trouble getting these plants to grow.  I took this image from a friend's plant.  I have one now that I am trying not to kill, it has not flowered though.

Only 3 days till Christmas!  I think I am finally ready, are you.  😄 My image today is all about the bokeh.  The theme over on G+ was about Passion.  I am passionate about capturing photos of butterflies and I am passionate about the Christmas Season and festive lights now and any time of the year. This image combines it all with a Butterfly decoration from my tree photographed against the lights of the big tree.

Happy Thanksgiving to those from the US and happy Thursday to everyone else.  This is just a little solar Turkey that I shot against some orange lights for bubbly bokeh.  The Turkey flaps it's wings in the sun.  😃

Autumn is officially here but you would never know it with the temps.  Plants know though as they have been slowing down in growth and the grasses have produced their seed heads.  This is a Foxtail grass head that I shot backlit from the sun last week.  I liked this one due to how it looked like it was glowing and also the great bokeh produced behind it.
