It's Steamy Sunday here on the Blog!  I usually share trains but I am making an exception here for today.  This is a drone capture of our 20HP Minneapolis Steam Traction Engine at the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's reunion.  It was threshing wheat when I took this image.

I have a video up on YouTube that is about 7.5 minutes long where I tried to show different aspects of the process if you care to watch.  I shot it with the drone and it can be found HERE.

  1. That's a very long belt on it. Is one possible reason to keep any possible sparks from the steam engine away from the dry wheat?

  2. That is one reason, The other is that the greater length means greater weight and that helps keep the belt on the pully.
