It's Steamy Sunday here on the Blog!  I usually share trains but I am making an exception here for today.  This is a drone capture of our 20HP Minneapolis Steam Traction Engine at the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's reunion.  It was threshing wheat when I took this image.

I have a video up on YouTube that is about 7.5 minutes long where I tried to show different aspects of the process if you care to watch.  I shot it with the drone and it can be found HERE.

Today's Steamy Sunday is a bit different.  I usually don't post steam traction engines because I am not that interested in them like steam trains.  LOL  This is the one the hubster works with though and I thought I might try out the new technique I have been playing with and I liked the result. This a 20 Minneapolis.

I felt like a bit of color today.  This is an older image I have never shared from my last trip up to Minneapolis a while back.  It was in the Autumn and this Maple tree in a park by the stone bridge across the Mississippi was just so huge and colorful I had to get a shot.

I have had this image around for a while and never shared it for some reason.  G+ had a theme of Arches today and it reminded me of this image so thought I would share it here as well.  This is the main area of the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis Minnesota.  It was opened in 1907 and was the first basilica in the US.  It was so ornate and beautiful inside and huge.  I visited it a while back and took several images of which this was one and is an HDR image to bring out the detail.

This is an image of the Northern Lights that I was able to view in Minnesota last year.  It was very cool to see such a display of them in the US like that.  I captured a few images, one I shared before but this one I liked as well and decided to share now.  The green glow was a bit eerie but beautiful.  In some places it was even purple-ish.

So with it cold and dreary and snow in the forecast I am still dreaming of summer.  This shot goes back in the archives to a trip I made to Minneapolis, Minnesota.  I went to see Minnehaha Falls in a park on the outskirts of town.  It was during the drought so the flow was lower than normal I was told but I thought it looked lovely as is.
