Today's image is from my recent trip to Minnesota.  I was out one evening in a field where they had been doing some wheat threshing and saw a different view of the farm there that I share every year.  It was near sunset so there was nice color to the sky as well.

I was recently in Minnesota for my annual Labor Day trip for the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion.  This is the farm I share almost every year there from a different angle.  The focus this year was on Horse Power.  Ironically, the only photo I had time to take during the show of that only includes a teeny tiny horse and wagon going around the pond.  😁

I am sharing another image of the great farm located on the grounds of the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion.   It is such a nice example of bygone days.  They use the farm for demonstrations of horse power.

Last weekend while out on a bike ride I saw these lovely horses out in their field and had to stop and take a couple of pics.  This one stopped grazing long enough to look at me for it's pic.  😁

When I am in Rollag, Minnesota I am compelled to photograph this farm area.  I find it very picturesque with it being situated next to the large pond.  The clouds help as well.

It's a double digit day!  😀  The farm on the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion grounds is very picturesque in my opinion.  It's the Horse Drawn Equipment area and is kept looking very olden days.  The fact that it sits beside a lovely pond just adds to it.  I took this image one day after my shift on the 353 as I was waking back to get my bike.

The farm at Rollag is quite picturesque I think.  The lovely red barns and the white farmhouse seem so representative of farms in the old days.  The pond just adds to the scene for me.  I captured this image one evening on a walk back to my campsite.

The farm on the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion is rather photogenic I think.  The first evening I was there was a very calm one and produced a fairly good reflection in the pond.  The shadows were already getting long in the early evening.  Happy first day of October!

It's been pretty hot around here lately, high 90s and 100s.  It was only 95 the other day and it was amazing how much difference 6 or 7 degrees made.  This is another farm scene that I took when I was in Minnesota in June.  Looking at it makes me feel a bit cooler.  😊

I was in Pennsylvania about a week ago visiting family.  I captured this image while out for a walk one day of a local Amish family most likely returning home after church.  I'm sure they were probably thinking, "darn tourists", but they smiled and waved as they passed closer as did I.

I took this image when I was in Minnesota a few weekends ago.  I was coming back from dinner one evening and the wind had finally died down and the water on this pond was like a mirror which made for a lovely rural scene.

Today's post could have been for Steamy Sunday but trains are more my thing.  This Minneapolis steam tractor was parked by the horse barn for a while while I was up in Minnesota this past Father's Day weekend.  It made for a nice rural photo.

This is another view of that barn on the grounds of the Steam Thresher's Reunion.  I actually took this image laying on the ground.  I wanted the grass in the foreground to show up well.  I love the look of this grass, looks like it is being windblown even when there is no wind.  It is called Foxtail Barley Grass.

I saw this really interesting old round grainery in Indiana near Lafayette.  It was a really dreary morning when I took this photo on my way back to Kansas.

This photo today is a bit different.  Sometimes I like to play in Black and White photography which is what I basically learned in.  This old cultivator lent itself well to a monochrome treatment.  It sits on a friend's family farm.  I gave it a bit of a gritty look which went well with the piece of equipment which worked in the dirt and grit.

A very busy day today.  Haven't had any time to relax till now.  Got to participate in and observe a few things today.  I was able to take this image while I was working on the locomotive today.  We were on our way to the station and the fire and water were good so I was able to take a moment and snap a photo.  I actually took this with my phone as well and it did a pretty decent job even though we were moving along and I was a little unsteady.  This is the Horse Power are of the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion.

I've had about enough of winter and we are barely even into it.  This image reminds me of warmer and peaceful days.  This is a view of the horse power area of the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion grounds.  This area does not have steam but showcases how horses were utilized during the same time period.  It was looking rather lovely on this particular day.

This is the Horse Power area of the Steam Thresher's Reunion at Rollag, MN.  On this particular day with the clouds and horse drawn cart I thought it made for a rather picturesque scene made modern by the windmill towers that have gone up around the area.

This is a rather picturesque farm I saw in Colorado off Highway 285.  285 was quite a lovely drive alongside the mountains on the way to Denver.
