Today's image is one from this past November that I took thinking I would use it for a calendar photo but I took a different one that I liked better. This is the Smoky Hill River that is one of the 3 that join and which my town is named for, Junction City. The other 2 are the Kansas and The Republican.

I was riding my bike to dinner a few Friday's ago and decided to stop and take a photo of the autumn colors along the Smoky Hill River. As I was taking my images I was, ironically, photobombed by a Heron that decided to fly across the river. So, I captured a Heron as I most often do, in flight, away from me. 😏

The day of the frost I just had to take a bit of a break and go out close to where I work a take a couple images. This is a view of the Smoky Hill river looking east with the trees all covered in Hoar frost.

Almost seems like it should be May at least with the weather we are having, 70s F. Tomorrow I think it is supposed to drop some. For the image today, I have never been a morning person. Some days though, I am glad to be up to see beautiful views like this. I saw this lovely and colorful sunrise on my way to work this week and detoured a bit out of my way to take this photo. This is looking over the Smoky Hill River just south of Junction City, Kansas.
