  Today's image is one from this past November that I took thinking I would use it for a calendar photo but I took a different one that I liked better.  This is the Smoky Hill River that is one of the 3 that join and which my town is named for, Junction City.  The other 2 are the Kansas and The Republican.

 Today's image is another example of our lovely autumn that we have had this year.   I took this after work one afternoon last week as I was heading home.  This is looking west on the Republican River towards Milford Lake from the bridge off of Washington Street.

Our autumn here is still quite beautiful and colorful though a lot of the trees are losing their leaves.  My garden railway has disappeared under them.  It's been so enjoyable to see all the beautiful color that you would normally have to travel to find.  Someone mentioned yesterday they thought it was due to the late rain that came that allowed them to get so vibrant.  I just wonder if it is because the high winds we usually have that blow them all off have not come yet.  Whatever it is, it's beautiful.  This is the Kansas River looking back west towards Junction City Kansas on K-18 Highway.  I loved all the deep reds and pops of orange.

This is an older image I took on an outing in Minnesota.  I have been to the Buffalo River State Park a couple of times and this was taken there.  This park is near Hawley Minnesota.  It's a bend along the trail of the Buffalo River.  I'm already dreaming of summer days.  😊

This is an image I captured while waiting for the train to come by on the Highline of the Durango & Silverton Railway.  This is near the Rockwood station which is near where people kayaking the Animas River have to pull out.  Just behind where I was this kayaker would have to leave the river due to it becoming more treacherous because of low water and rocks.  The fast flowing water looks like it made for quite the adventure in a Kayak.  I observed one person tip completely over a couple of times and the water is fairly cold.
