My Obedient Plant is blooming and while it is not very "obedient" it is a bee magnet and also a lovely plant to photograph.  This image is without bees but I got my hovering bee shot right by these.  It is also known as False Dragonhead, possibly because of it's resemblence to Snapdragons.  It get's it's Obedient name because the flowers can bend in any direction.  Hummingbirds are also attracted to this plant but I have not seen one at it yet.  It is in the mint family.

TGIF and Fridays Are Bokehlicious!   Today's bokeh image is of the blooms of one of my Obedient plants.  I always say they are not very obedient because they will spread everywhere but they are rather lovely.  It apparently got it's name because you can bend the flowers in any direction.  It spreads quite aggressively by rhizomes.  It is in the Mint family.

I captured this Bumble Bee in flight around the Obedient Plant recently.  I am always pleased when I can capture one in flight and have it be relatively in focus.

I like flower images in this style.  I had been doing my mini Hostas like this and thought I would try it out on another type of flower.  This is an Obedient Plant bloom.  They have just started to open.  I find the name quite funny as they are not obedient at all and spread like crazy.

This week has been crazy busy and I feel like quite the busy bee.  Today's photo is appropriate,  a couple busy Honey Bees on the, not really, Obedient Flower in my garden.

I had not seen the Honey Bees around for a good while in my yard.  Lately they have returned in good numbers.  They are enjoying the Autumn Sedum and also, like this one, the Obedient Plant.  I find that name ironic as that plant spreads like crazy but at least it is pretty and the bees get benefit from it.
