It's Friday, TGIF!  My Allium flowers are blooming.  It was attracting this Bumblebee to it's blooms.  It had some lovely bubbly bokeh in the image so sharing it for today because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!

TGIF, it's Friday!  We are supposed to be in a warming trend now and by next week it is supposed to be in the 60s when as I type this is is only supposed to be 6F out.  Crazy.  I still need to be warmed up right now so how about a mini Allium flower with some lovely bokeh because Friday's Are Bokehlicious as well!

Happy Friday, TGIF!  It's a double digit day today!  😀 I planted some Allium bulbs this past autumn and they came up and bloomed this spring.  I was hoping they would be the really big puffballs I have seen before but they maybe get larger the longer they are in the ground.  Anyway, they were lovely even if not very big.  I chose this image for today due to the lovely bokeh behind them because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!

Today's photo is one that I took almost a year ago now on a visit to the Overland Park Arboretum.  They have these beautiful Allium flowers that grow beside a pond there.  I admired them so much I have planted some at home which are beginning to come up and I look forward to having them closer.  On this particular visit, I got lucky because there were butterflies around that day and I got lucky and captured a Red Admiral butterfly flying towards a group of blooms.

Happy Independence Day to those of you in the US!  I don't have any current firework photos, however, I find these flowers to be like nature's fireworks.  These are Alliums, they are in the Onion family.  I found and photographed these at the Overland Park Arboretum this spring.

It's Friday, TGIF!  Today's image is one I took recently on a trip to the Overland Park Arboretum.  I love these flowers and need to plant some bulbs this fall of them.  This one was being visited by several insects.  It's a large Allium, I do have some miniature ones.  I chose this image for the lovely bokeh because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!

Happy Monday!  I planted some miniature Alliums in my garden railroad not knowing at the time how much they spread.  Not sure it was such a good idea now but I do enjoy their blooms as do the bees and butterflies.  This is a shot I got of a trio of them that I rather liked.

My mini Allium flowers in the Garden Railway were blooming recently and providing bugs and butterflies some nourishment.  Here is a Silvery Checkerspot enjoying one and a bug bonus.  Plus, because Fridays Are Bokehlicious, some nice creamy grass bokeh for the background.

I have some miniature Allium plants growing in my Garden Railway.  Alliums are an ornamental Onion and come in many varieties.  I like the size of these for the railroad.  The butterflies were enjoying them as well as you can see in this image here.  This is a Painted Beauty Butterfly, which have been very abundant in my gardens this summer, that I was able to capture enjoying some of the blooms.  Remember that I have a guide for commonly seen butterflies that can be found here in Kansas to help you ID them.  There is a link at the top of the page.

I was at the Overland Park Arboretum in Kansas a couple of weekends ago.  It was the second time I had visited there.  It's a beautiful place with lovely places to walk with many varied plants, flowers and trees.  The large Allium flowers, part of the Onion Family, were in bloom and I captured them in front of one of the waterfall features.

Well, we ended up with between 5 and 6 inches and that was quite enough especially since it didn't get me a day off.  That is all snow is good for in my opinion.  I am glad we didn't get like what is predicted for the east coast, like Maryland, 2 feet.  Yikes.  This might stay around a bit too, not supposed to be all that warm.  We'll see though.  In the meantime, here is a view of a much warmer time when my mini Alliums were in bloom and I took this macro image of one.  I thought it had some great bokeh as well.  Bokeh is the blurred background and can be different with different lenses.
