I have been able to see several Ladybugs this Spring which I have enjoyed.  They are a bit difficult to photograph as they move around pretty quickly.  I got lucky with this one as it paused for a moment in my young Sedum plant.

I am looking forward to seeing these guys again.  This is a Ladybug I was able to capture on my Black-eyed Susans I believe it was.  They are very beneficial as they eat aphids which can attack many plants and cause issues.  I wish I saw a lot more of them.

I love seeing Ladybugs which are actually beetles and not really "bugs".  They eat aphids which can be bad for plants so it is good to see them around taking care of things.  I found this one on my Milkweed earlier this summer.

I have seen my first Lady Bugs of the season.  I love when they are around.  I captured this one working it's way around some leaves on my Elderberry bushes that I am trying to establish in a spot in my yard.  It was busy moving around the leaves but I was able to get a capture  of it and was pleased that I got it in focus.

This is an image I captured last year but never shared.  This is a lovely Ladybug on the leaf of a Common Milkweed which has a bunch of little hairs all over it.

The wildflowers are emerging and along with them, the insects are coming out as well.  While weeding one of my gardens in preparation to plant, I saw several Ladybugs enjoying the Henbit.  This one was cooperative enough to get a photo of.

I was going back through my images from this year for a project I am working on and I found this image that I had never shared before.  I was able to get some really close Ladybug images that turned out well and this is one of them.

I captured my first Ladybug of the year the other day while working in my garden.  I transplanted an Autumn Sedum that had decided to grow in the yard.  When I went to water it I saw this Ladybug on it, not sure if it was there during the move or not but it didn't seem to bother it if it was.

One of my favorite insects is the Ladybug.  They are difficult for me to find and they are usually moving around looking for aphids to eat very quickly so hard to get a photo of.  I saw this one on a walk one afternoon and was able to get a decent shot of it.

I had several Ladybugs checking out the wildflowers for aphids in my yard a few days ago so I went out to capture some shots.  I was able to capture this shot and was very happy with it.

So for the month of May, we have had 7 inches of rain, the majority of it, this past few days.  It can stop for awhile now.  The ground is so saturated, it is coming in my basement in a place it never had before.  Mainly due to the gutter issue saturating everything against the house so bad and now it can't dry out.
On to nicer things and my image.  I was able to photograph my first Ladybug on Saturday.  It was actually on the leaf of a weed I was about to pull.  I made sure it was alright though.

This image is of the first Ladybug I spotted this year.  It was in a small Fleabane plant which has some fuzzy leaves when seen up close.

So now we are not only dry but it's windy to dry it out even more.  Sigh.  No rain in sight for a week at least too.  Anyway, today's image is one from Minnesota.  I captured this Ladybug which, due to the fact that is has no spots, is the Asian Lady Beetle variety of Ladybug.  I captured this one on the new rail that was being laid for the large scale train I get to help with there.

This is an image I capture recently.  I'm not sure if it was some kind of standoff or coincidence.  Not sure if Ladybugs eat ants or maybe vice versa.  ðŸ˜Š  Anyway, I thought it made for an interesting subject to photograph.  I captured this on the leaf of a milkweed and the shadows gave it that blue-ish cast.

Well we finally got some significant rain this morning. Hopefully the cracks will close up in the ground now, some were almost an inch wide.  I captured this image in Minnesota the day we arrived a couple weeks ago.  There were all kinds of Dragonflies and Damselflies around.  When I first got this shot I was thinking it was a pretty god one, nice in focus and all.  When I looked closer, it made me a bit sad to see what it had captured, a Ladybug.  I actually thought of a title for this one too, Lunchtime For Dragons

Hot days already, yuck.  Will be interesting to see what July and August are like.  My image today is of a Ladybug I was able to capture on a Milkweed leaf.  It was looking for Aphids and there were some further up the plant.

Nature is appearing again all over now that the warm weather is here and the rains as well.  I captured this Ladybug that was out this weekend on a Tulip bloom in the garden.  It was very nice that this little guy posed so nicely for me. I am always happy when I see a Ladybug around, they are so cute.

I love Ladybugs.  They are such cute little visitors to the garden and help take care of not so great visitors like Aphids.  I always enjoy seeing them around.  They are hard to get an image of sometimes because they always seem to be moving around the plant in search of a meal.  Sometimes though I get lucky and they pause for a moment like in this shot.

12/15/16

So winter has really come, only a high of 26F or about -3C today and by Saturday even colder.  Have I mentioned lately I don't like winter?  :-)  I am dreaming of warmer days and looking at images of warmer days.  I got this image on a lovely warm day.  This Ladybug was looking for aphids on these Daisy Fleabanes and I was able to get a shot when it sat still for a moment.

Well, back in the heat this week with highs in the 90s.  Thought maybe we were done with that.  Ah well.  My image today is of one of the Ladybugs I had visiting my yard this year.  I seemed to see more of them this year than usual.  My milkweed that I planted for the Monarchs was a big draw because it had aphids on it.  That's where I captured this one as it was moving around finding aphids.
