Today's image is one from this Spring when the Cedar Waxwings were around and visiting my pond. This image is while a group of them were sitting in the Walnut tree in-between flying down and getting a drink.

I have been getting a lot of opportunities to see the Cedar Waxwings this year. They have discovered my backyard pond and apparently told their friends. 😂 I have had some pretty large flocks coming to visit and get a drink. It's been fun to watch them. This is an image I got early on where it looked like a couple of them were having some kind of disagreement.

I have had an opportunity to see the Cedar Waxwings in my yard even though I missed them cleaning up the Crabapple trees. One day I was working at my computer in the afternoon for a moment and happened to catch a bunch of activity out the window. I went to check and it was a large flock of Waxwings that were getting drinks at the pond and then flying up into the Walnut tree. It was quite fun to watch them. I was able to get 14 of them in one shot a few times like this one.

I have a lot of fairly decent bird images from this year that I still have not shared. Had some good opportunities, more than usual. I thought I was only getting one chance to see Cedar Waxwings this year but got lucky with a few more while they visited my backyard pond for a drink. This is a couple of them sitting in the Walnut tree, one in better focus than the other. 😁

I have gotten lucky lately. While sitting in my office one morning I happened to look out the back window and saw some birds in the Walnut tree that didn't look like the usual visitors. I got my camera and zoomed in and it was Cedar Waxwings! I have seen them every weekend now. I think they may be coming to visit the small pond in the backyard for a drink, that's where they seem to be going back and forth from. It's been very neat to see them around still as I thought they usually left after their initial Spring visit.

In the Spring the Cedar Waxwings seem to travel through and spend a bit of time in the trees by my Gazebo pond. I saw them a couple weeks back and did not have a camera with me. By the time I ran to the house and back there were only a very few in the trees and I only got off one shot. Fortunately, it was a fairly good one. I love Waxwings. I have not seen them since unfortunately.

I saw my first Waxwings last week. I captured this one after it left the Crabapple tree because it didn't want me too close nd sat in an Elm tree. To me their tails look as though they have been dipped in yellow wax as well.
