3/30/15

These birds, Cedar Waxwings, rarely visit my yard.  I usually see them once or twice in the winter and it is because they are getting a drink from the pond.  On Saturday I looked out the window and saw one sitting in the Walnut tree.  It stayed long enough for me to change to a zoom lens and then get off several images and was joined by another as well and that you can see in the photo.  I love their masked looking faces.  I have heard they can be bullies like Blue jays but I have not experienced this.  They like to eat berries from different trees which is why I probably don't see them much, I don't have any food they like, just water.
