Time for a steam train image again! I found this in the archives when I was looking for something else last week. On our first trip to the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad we were chasing the train on the day after we rode. We were treated to a double header as well which means they were using 2 locomotives to pull the train. The trip up to Windy Point out of Chama, New Mexico is basically all uphill and on some pretty steep grades at times. As you can see here the locomotives were working pretty hard at this point not far out of Chama. Most of this falls to the ground and on the train as soot so not as much pollution as it might look.
