I have a lot of fairly decent bird images from this year that I still have not shared.  Had some good opportunities, more than usual.  I thought I was only getting one chance to see Cedar Waxwings this year but got lucky with a few more while they visited my backyard pond for a drink.  This is a couple of them sitting in the Walnut tree, one in better focus than the other.  😁

I have gotten lucky lately.  While sitting in my office one morning I happened to look out the back window and saw some birds in the Walnut tree that didn't look like the usual visitors.  I got my camera and zoomed in and it was Cedar Waxwings!  I have seen them every weekend now.  I think they may be coming to visit the small pond in the backyard for a drink, that's where they seem to be going back and forth from.  It's been very neat to see them around still as I thought they usually left after their initial Spring visit.

In the Spring the Cedar Waxwings seem to travel through and spend a bit of time in the trees by my Gazebo pond.  I saw them a couple weeks back and did not have a camera with me.  By the time I ran to the house and back there were only a very few in the trees and I only got off one shot.  Fortunately, it was a fairly good one.  I love Waxwings.  I have not seen them since unfortunately.

I was lucky to see these birds again this Spring.  I captured them eating berries out of the Hackberry trees one afternoon.  They seem to just pass through on their way to where they nest for the summer which is, unfortunately not in my yard.  I love their masks, very cute.

I was able to see and photograph several Cedar Waxwings that were in the trees above my pond eating berries.  I think they were off of Hackberry trees.  I was surprised they were not in the Crabapples but maybe they had gotten all of them already.  It was very nice surprise to see them as I had missed seeing them last year.  I was able to capture one of them actually going for a berry.

This is an image I was able to get earlier this spring while the Cedar Waxwings were around enjoying the Crabapple trees.  I captured this pair taking a rest from their meal.

I saw my first Waxwings last week.  I captured this one after it left the Crabapple tree because it didn't want me too close nd sat in an Elm tree.  To me their tails look as though they have been dipped in yellow wax as well.

It has been a joy to see these visitors this year.  I rarely get to see them but they were around quite a lot this spring and would sit in the trees and let me get fairly close to them for a shot before they would change trees.  I really liked this shot I was able to get and think of it as The Three Amigos.  These are Cedar Waxwings and while I have a lot of Cedar trees around they are not common in my yard.

Earlier this winter I finally had some Cedar Waxwings visiting my yard.  I got a few images but actually messed up the best ones by not getting them in focus.  Ah well.  This is an older image I found while looking for something else of several in the trees the last time I saw them.  You can see in this image why they are called Waxwings as well.

I think Mother Nature is playing April Fools on us.  It is supposed to be spring and will be like that today but then we head into really bitter cold temps.  I worry for my Lilacs mostly.  😟  Today starts 5 days of bird photos.  Today's image I took a couple weeks ago in Pennsylvania while out on a walk.  This was the only bird I was able to get an image of that day where I usually see a different type of water bird.  I was quite surprised by this guy as I have never seen one in this area before.  I rarely get them at home either.  This is a Cedar Waxwing in a tree at the park.

This is an older image of some birds I hope to see around again this winter.  These are Cedar Waxwings and I love their faces that look like they have masks on.  They don't visit my yard very often as I don't have the kind of trees that provide the food they look for.  If they visit my yard it's to have a drink from the pond in the back.  This isn't the best shot I have ever gotten but I liked that I was able to capture 3 of them together.
