It's the first day of July, we are halfway through the year already! It's also Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog! Today's flower is one that makes me happy and is blooming like crazy this year. This is Black-eyed Susan which bloom May through September. It's in the Sunflower family and is formally known as Rudbeckia Hirta.
Happy Monday and happy new week! I felt like starting off the week with some sunny looking flowers. These are my Rudbeckias and they make me happy. They are coming up again so I hope to enjoy them again this summer.
It's Friday, TGIF! Today is supposed to be bitterly cold, a high of only 15 F so I wanted something that would warm me up and this image I took of my Rudbeckias this past summer does the trick. I had first seen this variety of them at a Transportation museum in St Louis and loved them so I was very happy I was able to get some seeds to grow and flower. This image also has some lovely bubbly bokeh so is perfect for today because Friday's Are Bokehlicious here on the Blog!

It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog! I don't think I have shared this flower this year and it is one of my favorites! These are Black-eyed Susan that are growing on the bank of my Gazebo Pond. They usually bloom May through September. They are also known as Rudbeckia Hirta and are in the Sunflower family.
Happy Monday and happy new week! These flowers are ones I started from seed and then planted in a couple areas in my yard. This group only had about 1 bloom last year but, as you can see, did much better this year. This is my Rudbeckia plant, a type of Black eyed Susan. I love the red accents on them, they make me happy.
It's Friday, TGIF! Fridays Are Bokehlicious so here is today's bokeh image. I started some Rudbeckia last year from seed and it did fairly well and flowered a bit. This year it is coming back even stronger with more blooms and this is one of them I captured after a recent rain. It has a lot of my favorite bubbly bokeh behind it.

Happy Monday and new week! My "baby" Rudbeckia, also known as Black-eyed Susans, plant which went through a couple of starts and grew through the winter is doing very well in it's spot in the garden. I love the look of them with the dual color petals.
Happy Monday! Starting off this week with a flower from a plant that was about a year in the making. I had photographed and, I think, shared a flower from this before but it is currently in it's spot in the garden and flowering well. This is a Rudbekia flower. I had it planted it last June, it died while I was away so restarted it in late July. I had it in my office over the winter where it bloomed with a couple of flowers and then transplanted it to it's spot in the garden where it promptly wilted because we were having 90 degree temps early on. It has since cooled off and we got some rain and it seems to be doing very well now and currently has 4 blooms on it at once. Very happy as it was kind of an ordeal.
Happy Monday! Today's image is of a flower that took FOREVER to bloom. I planted this in late June due to some extenuating circumstances. By frost time they still had not grown very much and I couldn't bear to let them die so I put them in a small pot and brought them into the office. It just bloomed 2 weeks ago! How crazy is that. I figured it wouldn't bloom till I put it back outside but it surprised me. This is a Rudbekia which is a variety of Black Eyed Susan.
Happy Monday! Hershey Gardens in Pennsylvania was a lovely place filled with all kinds of opportunities to shoot flower of all kinds. This is a Rudbeckia and related to a Black Eyed Susan. I hope to find some of these to plant this year. I love this particular variety with the green eyes and dual colored petals.
