How about a lovely butterfly for today.  A beautiful Giant Swallowtail that was visiting my Lantana flowers one day this summer.

It's a double digit day today.  😊  Butterflies have been few and far between lately.  I captured this one a few weeks ago enjoying the Ironweed in the yard.  It's a Giant Swallowtail.

We are having quite the different week than a couple of weeks ago when it was bitterly cold, it is not hitting close to 70s F!  Crazy weather!  Anyway, it won't be long till I hopefully see sights like this once again.  This is a Giant Swallowtail Butterfly on my Lantana flowers from this past summer.

TGIF!  Made it to Winter Break which starts tomorrow for 2 weeks.  It's been a long, weird year in some ways and a short one in others.  So strange.  Anyway, Friday's are Bokehlicious on the Blog as well so a photo with some great bokeh for you.  A Giant Swallowtail on Echinacea from earlier this year.

Happy September!  My image to start off the month is of a gorgeous Giant Swallowtail butterfly that came to visit my Lantana flowers that I have growing in a large pot on the deck.  I was able to get this shot through the storm door of it enjoying the blooms.  It was lovely to see it up close like that.

Today is only Thursday but I wanted to share a butterfly shot today.  This is one from very late Spring that shows off the pattern on a Giant Swallowtail quite well.  It was enjoying the Red Clover that was growing quite abundantly this year.

We made it to Friday and Friday's Are Bokehlicious!  Friday's are for butterflies as well a lot of the time like today.  I have been lucky to see a lot of larger type butterflies this summer like this Giant Swallowtail, the largest butterfly in our state.  This one was enjoying the blooms of some Woolly Verbena, a Kansas wildflower, on my land last week and I was lucky enough to capture it in flight a couple of times.  I loved the bokeh that the grass behind made for the image.

The Red Clover has been quite the draw for butterflies this year.  This is a giant Swallowtail I captured on it a few weeks back.  Because Friday's Are Bokehlicious I chose this image with the greenery behind creating some lovely bokeh.

Fridays Are Bokehlicious here on the Blog.  This Giant Swallowtail came to visit my Zinias a few weeks ago.  I only had a normal lens on but I was still able to get fairly close to it.  The sunlight made some lovey bokeh behind in the light patterns.  I love it when it has the round bubbly type bokeh.
Don't forget that I have a Page devoted to types of butterflies here on the Blog as well that is a helpful guide to ID ones you see.
