It's Friday, TGIF!  With the very cold and snowy weather we have experienced lately, I have been able to photograph birds as they have been visiting the feeders and bath.  I was able to capture this Carolina Wren which I usually only see in warmer weather so that was a treat.  I chose this image for today due to the lovely bubbly bokeh in it because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!

This winter has been great for bird shots and then on one day snow as well.  I could share bird and snow pics all week for several weeks but I won't bore you.  😊  Anyway I captured this Carolina Wren calling one morning outside my window in the Walnut tree.  They have a rather distinctive call and it's rather loud as well.

If you go to this link and scroll down to Songs & Calls, Song #1 is the exact one I hear and heard on this day.  Audubon.org Carolina Wren

We have had a Carolina Wren staying around all winter.  I heard it chirping, they have quite a distinctive and loud chirp, and I watched it for a moment before I decided I liked the light and went to get my camera.  It stayed there for a while longer while I got some shots.  They are so cute the way they kind of bob up and down while they chirp too.

I have Carolina Wrens nesting in the Turnip birdhouse again.  They nested there a couple of years ago and then didn't last year for some reason but are back in it.  I caught mom looking out of it the other day.

Today's image moves from autumn into full winter.  Last weekend we had a good snow, 6 inches at least at my house, some areas had more.  The birds were out in full force at the feeders.  I titled this image Sharing for obvious reasons.  This Carolina Wren and Black capped Chickadee seemed to have no issue with eating from the peanut feeder together.  It was quite cute.  By the way, the snow background created the absence of bokeh in contrast to yesterday's image.

I love these birds.  I had not seen where they nested this year but I was happy to see that they are around.  This is a Carolina Wren and I find them quite cute.  They have quite the loud chirp and are cute the pose they make while doing it.  I, unfortunately, wasn't able to capture that.

Well we have a chance for rain through the foreseeable future right now.  That's good because I saw that the Farmer's Almanac is predicting a "Hot & Dry" summer for our area.  I'll take what rain we can get right now.  My photo for today is of one of a pair of, what I believe are, Carolina Wrens.  They were building a nest in a decorative bird house that I have hanging on the porch that looks like a big turnip.  They are very loud with their chirping when they are around.  I was able to capture this one in the Oak tree that is near the bird house.
