Happy Monday and happy new week!  I thought I would start off the week with a nice bright flower that kind of resembles summer for us right now, very hot.  This is a flower from one of my Bee Balm plants.  It is quite a bright red and with the sunlight on it, almost looks like it is glowing.

Today's image is of one of the few large butterflies I was able to see and capture this past summer.  This is a Black Swallowtail that was visiting the Bee Balm.  It is the female of the species.

It's Independence Day here in the US!  I don't have any recent photos of fireworks so how about some natural looking fireworks.  These are Bee Balm flowers in bloom that I planted last year and came back and flowered this year.  They have 3 bees visiting, 2 fairly prominent and then a very little one you may have trouble spotting.

Today's image is actually a composite.  I shot the image of my Bee Balm flower earlier this summer but found it somewhat uninteresting.  Then, this is another bee in flight images I got that had a very boring background so I decided to put them together into a more all around interesting image, to me anyway.  Another reason to not trust what you see on the internet these days.  😉

It's Wildflower Wednesday!  I had posted the other variety of Bee Balm a few weeks ago that had the more grouped or bunches of flowers.  These are the more normal, kind of tufted variety that I usually see.

It's a double digit day today and it is also Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog.  So many are in bloom these days, it is hard to choose just one.  This is one of my favorites that is blooming currently, Bee Balm.  I like the shape of this variety and it produces interesting seed pods which can be seen in the lower part of the photo.

It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog so taking a break from cold pictures.  This is one of my favorites and I need to plant some more of it.  I have a miniature variety.  This is Bee Balm or Wild Bergamot.  Bees love it as do butterflies, I see Swallowtails on it fairly regularly.  The leaves smell minty and you can make a mint tea from them.  They can be white, pink or lavender.

It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Remember, you can always check out the Wildflowers By Colors pages of the Blog to help you ID the ones you are seeing.

Today's image is of Wild Burgamot or Bee Balm.  It is well named because the bees, especially Bumbles sure seem to love it.  There is a Bumble in this image feeding on a bloom.

Fridays are about the bokeh and this shot from this past summer from my garden has that.  This is my red Bee Balm in bloom.  I saw yesterday that it seems to have survived the winter and is starting to emerge.  I am looking forward to enjoying it again.

I was on a walk in Pennsylvania a couple weeks ago and their Bee Balm was still in bloom a bit.  I captured this Bumblebee enjoying the last of the flowers.
