The Wild Turkeys have been around visiting the bird feeder quite a bit recently. I was surprised to see these 4 males displaying for a female who, seemingly, cares very little about what they are doing. I was surprised to see them together and not fighting for dominance. The one on the right has quite the vivid waddle. I call them, The Gang. 😁
I never really thought about it, but I've never seen the toms fighting over a lady. They jostle gently for position but that's all I've seen.
ReplyDeleteI have seen one or two chase a person who showed some timidness and did not stand their ground.
I had one, who was not displaying, sneak up behind me and jump on my back, sticking his sharp spur into my jeans. I told him where to go and he went....
I have a video on YouTube of a couple having a major tiff but now that I think about it, there was not a female around at the time. Glad you didn't get hurt from that.
