It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Today's flower is one that I rarely see because it is not open very long.  This is Venice Mallow also known as "Flower of an Hour" because of the brief amount of time they are open in the morning.  They usually bloom July through September.  It's seeds can remain viable in soil for several years.

  1. Nice looking flower. I guess the bees have to be fast to pollenate. Does it have a strong smell to attract the bees?
