I was in Pennsylvania about a week ago visiting family.  I captured this image while out for a walk one day of a local Amish family most likely returning home after church.  I'm sure they were probably thinking, "darn tourists", but they smiled and waved as they passed closer as did I.

  1. We have a good number of Mennonites living in Southern Ontario around the Kitchener area.
According to Google, Mennonites and the Amish are very similar except the Mennonites allow themselves to use electricity and motors etc. The Mennonites I have seen certainly don't fit that definition, they are essentially the same as the Amish in that respect.
They have been running out of farmland in the Kitchener area and have recently been buying farms about 50-80kms west of us, plus land on Manitoulin Island, well north of Toronto.
During the recovery from very bad windstorms last May, and in 2018, Mennonites came to our city to help with the clean up.

    1. Yes, there is a large Mennonite population in Pennsylvania as well. We have a community south of us as well in Kansas, it's mostly Amish though. They certainly know how to work and are very helpful to those in need.
