This is an image I was able to get on a trip to Yellowstone. I may have shared a very similar one before. It fit a theme over on G+ so I used it for that too. This is the only time I have ever seen a bear in the wild during the day and have been able to photograph it. I saw this bear on our trip to Yellowstone a while back. I had seen them at night before raiding trash at a campsite in Colorado once but too dark for photos. It was cool to be able to see one. Not sure what type, looks big even far away. 😃

I captured this image on my first trip to the Grand Canyon and never shared it for some reason. I saw this plant in bloom while I was there last year but this was a particularly good example. This is a Century Plant which lives for about 100 years and then shoots up this spectacular huge bloom and then dies. It's beautiful while blooming.

Happy Earth Day though Earth Day should be Every Day. I thought I would share the earth creating some of it's own mist and steam today. This is Riverside Geyser in Yellowstone National Park putting on quite the show when I was there a few years back.

So we actually got rain but it was icy rain that caused a 2 hour delay. Weird winter. I was going through the archives and found this image. It amazes me that these two trees have such tenacity and seem to be thriving in such a barren area. I love the color of the water that is from the hot springs in the area as well.

Happy World Photography Day! My photo today was taken on the 4th of July and was my fireworks show for that day. I spent the evening watching the sun set at the Grand Canyon. You can see a bit of the Colorado River in the shot. The Grand Canyon is quite an impressive place to visit and watching the sunset there is quite a beautiful experience as well.
