 I had forgotten about the eclipse till I was outside the other evening, 9/17, and was reminded so I grabbed my camera and took a few photos.  This is the first (left) and last one I took.  It never changed very much in about 15 minutes time.  It was still interesting and fun to capture.  Wish I hadn't blown out the bright part in the first image so badly.  😏

 On Sunday evening there was a lunar eclipse occurring.  I only photographed the first part of it due to I have photographed a full one before and I am getting older and needed to get to bed as it was a work night.  😄  I only had time to work with one photo but I was rather pleased with it.  When viewed large especially, you can see stars in the image as well.  Not a sight you can usually photograph in one exposure with a full moon.  I thought the color turned out well too.  I'll have to share my sequence one day after I have time to process the images I took.

So yesterday it was cloudy here the whole time till about the last 15 ins of the total eclipse.  We didn't even get any decent rain out of it being cloudy to make it worth it.  I got this image of the moon passing over as it was almost done.  If you look large you can see few sunspots on the sun.  I was very disappointed to not have  been able to see more of the eclipse.  At least I got one good shot of it.  Plus I learned how to photograph the sun.  Not a total loss I guess.  I shot this with a 500mm lens with a 2X converter on it, so not cropped.

Well, it's the last day of September.  Autumn is here as we are having cooler temps now which is quite nice.  I stayed up the other night, past my bedtime, watching and photographing the eclipse.  We had a perfect clear sky and who knows what can happen in 18 years when the next one is supposed to occur so I decided I needed to take my chance.  It took me a bit to come up with this compilation of images I got that night.  I was pretty happy with what I was able to capture.  When the moon was fully covered in the middle images I was pleased to be able to capture that and the color of it which everyone is referring to as a "Blood Moon".  Those exposures were done at 3 seconds.  Most of the moon shots were done at 1/250 of a second so as not to blow out the detail in the moon.  This image to see the best detail is best viewed large by clicking on it.  :-)
