Happy 4th of July everyone in the US!  It's been a weird year so far.  Not sure we will even be able to see fireworks today.  These are from a couple of years ago in Wamego Kansas which is known for their great shows.

Happy Independence Day everyone here in the US!  This is a composite image from the fireworks show I watched in Wamego Kansas last year.  They put on quite the spectacular show.

It's blah and dreary today so I decided on something bright and it was a type of photo they were looking for over on Google Plus so helped me decide.  Google Plus is going away next August so trying to find a new place to play.  I am not all that fond of Social Media and G+ is the only one I have ever been active in so trying to decide the right place to go to have the same kind of experience.  Anyway, these are some colorful Tulips that I shot in Wamego Kansas at their Tulip festival.

In the middle of summer I am thinking of Spring.  We have good chances for rain a couple of days this week and I am hoping we get it.  These are a lovely group of Tulips that I photographed in the Tulip Capitol of Kansas, Wamego a while back.

Posting early today because we had a short workday today to lead into the nice 3 day weekend so yay.  This is another shot of a beautiful group of Tulips in Wamego Kansas this Spring that I titled Take A Bow.

I needed a bright cheerful photo today.  This is another from Wamego Kansas of one of their groups of Tulips.  Some beautiful reds and pinks in this group.

In Wamego Kansas where they have the Tulip Festival every year they also have an old Dutch Mill.  I was looking for my info on it and noticed that the Redbud trees that are in my previous images of it are now gone.  I wonder why they removed them.  Anyway, this is a 3 shot vertical panorama done with my 70mm lens.  A Mill in Kansas with Tulips is a rather unique sight I think but made for a lovely one.

It's been a long week and I needed something bright and cheery today.  This is one of the groups of Tulips that Wamego, Kansas has growing in their City Park for their festival.  The Tulip Festival is this weekend, hope they are still blooming well.  I loved the color combination of these so thought I would share it today.  I loved the bokeh that the orange ones made in the background.

I went to Wamego Kansas this past weekend to see how the Tulips were doing.  Wamego is known for it's Tulip festival and has very large groups of them growing in the City Park and various areas in town.  The Tulips were at their peak and looking quite colorful.  I couldn't remember having seen ones in a burgundy color like this before so I had to get some photos and decided to share this macro which really shows off the lovely rich color.

Well today is the first day of the year for playing steam trains.  As this posts I should be steaming up a large scale locomotive to run for the day.  This image for today is of a lovely purple tulip that I saw in Wamego this Spring.  I loved the spikey look to it. Different from other tulips  have seen.  I made the background leaves a bit more subdued to make the flower stand out more.

Well, hopefully last night was the last night of deep freeze since everything is starting to bloom.  I had to travel to Wamego, KS this past week and they are known for their Tulips because they have an old Dutch Windmill in the park.  A lot of the Tulips were in bloom because of the warm weather we have been having.  I shot a bunch of photos while I was there.  I liked this one of a large group.  It was lovely to see them in such big groups that I don't get in my garden.  One day I would love to travel to where they are grown professionally to see the huge rows of them.  That would be gorgeous!

This is a shot of the Dutch Mill in Wamego, KS that I took this spring but never shared.  The Red Bud trees were blooming like crazy at the time even though the tulips were not due to the late spring we had this year.
