As I mentioned on Tuesday, I have been able to capture a lot of birds this winter. This is a Nuthatch that I was able to capture out my window on the Mulberry tree. I love watching them move around the tree, usually upside down. They are adorable and hard to capture as they don't stay still very long.

I find these birds so cute but they are rather difficult to capture for me because they move around the tree so quickly. This is a Nuthatch. They can be seen moving face first down a tree. I got lucky and this one paused long enough for a few shots.

I was told by a friend that basically, this whole week, until the 28th in fact, has been a Palindrome week. Kind of fun. It will be a long time till that happens again I think. Anyway, last weekend was the Cornell Labs Great Backyard Bird Count. I had a good variety that day and even a couple of opportunities for some photos. An example is one of the Nuthatches that came to visit and stopped just long enough for a photo.

We are going back to summer for a couple of days. high 80s today and maybe 90 tomorrow. Crazy weather. This is an image from a while back of a cute little Nuthatch on the Mulberry tree outside the window. I love to watch them walk down trees face first.

So it's officially Spring but having a bit of summer right off but hopefully back to the correct weather now. I captured this image a few weeks ago of this Nuthatch that has been visiting one of my feeders. I love to watch these birds walking face first down the tree trunks. Too cute. I caught this one when it posed for me for just a moment.

Having a Holiday day today, yay. It's very cold out though, only about 7F when I check a bit ago. I was able to get today's image in late November. Funny how it seems like just a week or two ago. Anyway, I don't get Nuthatches around all that often and when I do they are in so much motion it is very difficult to get a shot of them and also isn't blurry. I believe this one was caching food for the winter, he kept going back to a similar spot on the Mulberry tree and pecking at the bark so I think it was taking sunflower seed from the feeder and storing it up. I was patient and waited for a possible chance to capture it and I finally got one when it paused on the trunk for a moment. They are so cute the way they walk face down a tree unlike other birds who only seem to move up the tree.
