Happy Monday and happy new week! The Lilacs are, unfortunately, finished blooming for the year. They did not do as well as past years, only produced a few blooms. I think it was due to the late extreme cold that we had. I was able to get a few images and this is one. I wish the flowers lasted longer as well as they smell so lovely.

It's Earth Day officially but in my opinion Earth Day should be everyday. I try to but and plant flowers that are native and that butterflies and bees will like. You can do it for cheap with Zinnia seed. They grow easily and butterflies love them! I took this image of a male Tiger Swallowtail on an old established Lilac a little over a week ago. It was perfect so must have been newly hatched. My first butterfly capture for the year.
It's a double digit day today! It's also Steamy Sunday here on the Blog today! Today is my annual spring photo. I have a miniature Lilac growing in the railroad that I like to take one of my steam engines with. This is my live steam Accucraft Mimi locomotive with it's train and the Lilac which didn't have a lot of blooms this year for some reason.
It's Friday, TGIF! My Lilacs are just starting to bloom, it's been a weird Spring. I have 2 different types and one usually blooms later than the other but they are both starting together this year. The one that is later is much more aromatic and I captured this Common Variegated Fritillary was enjoying the blooms the other day and I was able to get a few images of it. It's Steamy Sunday here on the Blog! Longing for spring and winter hasn't even started. This is an image I took this past spring of my G Scale locomotive and it's train in front of the mini Lilac I have growing in the railroad. The water tower is actually a bird feeder that I have yet to use for it's original purpose as it fits in perfectly on the railroad. 😁

It's Steamy Sunday here on the Blog! This weekend has been the weekend that I go and "play" Garden Trains with some friends at a house not far from us. They are really into live steam locomotives and have taught me a lot about that. I thought I would share another Spring image of my garden railway with one of my trains by the miniature Lilac.

It's a double digit day and Happy Cinco De Mayo! TGIF, it's Friday too! I was able to see and capture Red Admiral butterflies quite often this spring. They are usually the first one I see and there were several of them around. On this day there were at least 5 on the Lilacs at one time and then a couple over in the Crabapple tree. I chose this particular image of one enjoying the Lilacs because of the lovely bokeh because Fridays Are Bokehlicious!

It's Friday, TGIF, end of a long busy week for me. I am dreaming of spring and the flowers returning. This image is of one of my Lilac bushes. I hope they have made it through the cold winter and drought OK. We shall see. I chose this image for today because of the beautiful bubbly bokeh because Fridays Are Bokehlicious!
It's Steamy Sunday! The only Lilac that was still in bloom last week was my miniature one in my garden railway. I took my Live Steam locomotive out and did some posing shots with it.
It's Friday and a double digit day, sort of. 😀 My Lilacs are basically all done now due to the large rains washing all the blooms off. My very fragrant ones attracted this Clearwing Moth one day while I was over by them and I was able to get several shots of it. Another bloom was providing the bokeh because it's also about the bokeh because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!
This is the 4th type of butterfly I was able to capture this year. When my Lilacs were in full bloom a couple weekends ago they were visited by several Red Admiral butterflies. I was able to capture several images of them. I only seem to see them in the spring. They must not like the heat much.
TGIF! It's also the last day of April, this year seems to be going quite quickly. We had a cold snap recently but fortunately the Lilacs made it through OK and are blooming beautifully. This is a close up image of a bit of bloom on one of my bushes. I love the color of this one. I loved the bokeh in this image so it was perfect for today because Friday's Are Bokehlicious as well!
