 Today's image is one I got in early autumn as the trees here were just beginning to change.  On this particular morning it was fairly cold and there was some steam coming off the pond ( I would have shared this tomorrow for Steamy Sunday if it had shown up more prominently 😉).  I liked the glassy look of the water that day.  This is Homer's Pond in town.

We had an early snow this year on the day before Halloween.  The temps at night were in the low 20s.  Early for that kind of thing.  It did make for a pretty view of homer's pond in town with the autumn colors and the snow.

Our lovely autumn is coming rapidly to a close, it feels like January today with temps in the 20s F right now.  We had a lovely snow on Thursday and then the winds kicked up on Friday so I didn't manage to get this shot when I wanted but I still managed to capture some of the snow in the trees.  This is a 2 shot panoramic image of Homer's Pond in junction City Kansas.  It is best viewed full size by clicking on it.

We have been having the most colorful autumn I can remember in some time.  Usually we seem to go right from summer into winter with high winds that knock the leaves off the trees before they really get a chance to fully turn.  This year we have had an autumn and no big winds yet.  The trees have really been putting on a show.  This is a view of Homer's Pond in Junction City.  The drought caused the pond to get fairly low this year and so the plants grew into where the water usually is.  Normally there would not be all that growth along the edge.  It was added color in the late afternoon sun though, can you tell that's when I really like to capture photos?  😉
