Happy Monday and happy new week.  Today's image is of a flower that is native to Kansas but I seem to have issues with it wanting to come back.  This is Coreopsis.  I have planted in a different area this year and am hoping it will thrive and come back next year.  I shall see.

It's Friday, TGIF!  Today's image is of a flower I have that I hope survived the winter as it puts on a nice show.  This is a Coreopsis, a couple of varieties are native to Kansas.  I loved the bokeh in this image so I had to share it today because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!

It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  I have some beauties coming up in the next few weeks.  This is one that I like a lot and grow, or try to grow, in my gardens.  This is Coreopsis, also known as Tickseed, which are in the Asteracea Family.  They are drought hardy and native in my area.  I have difficulty getting them to return.  I'll see how my newest plant does this year.  I captured these lovely ones out on a walk near my home.

It's Wildflower Wednesday on the Blog once again!  Today's flower is Coreopsis which can still be found blooming in my area of central-ish Kansas.  We have had an odd summer of cool temps at times and more rain than usual so I think that is helping the wildflowers bloom longer.  Usually by now we are dry and fairly brown.

There are several other wildflowers still blooming and I hope you check out my pages of Wildflowers By Color listed across the top of the Blog to help you ID what you see.

It's Wildflower Wednesday on the Blog once again.  Today's flower is The Plains Coreopsis.  I love the red accent of this one.  These are still blooming a bit in my area but not as profusely as earlier this summer.  You can view a different shot of them on my newly revamped Wildflower Pages by Color on the Yellow page.

My Coreopsis plant is starting to bloom.  I captured it against the limestone rocks that surround the garden.  Creopsis is a wildflower that grows in Kansas but I purposely planted this one.

I found this lovely group of Coreopsis growing wild in the ditch this past summer.  There were all these bright orange flowers growing in the ditches along the road into Manhattan.  When I stopped and walked closer I saw what they were and took some different shots of them.  It was a lovely colorful sight while they were in bloom as you were driving.  Coreopsis is also known as Tick Seed.  They have a long bloom period and can be easy to grow in a home garden.

I have been driving back and forth to Manhattan a lot lately.  A couple of weeks ago I kept noticing these large numbers of orange flowers in the ditches alongside the road and wondered what they were.  I finally stopped one day on the way home and found that they were Coreopsis Grandiflora probably more commonly known as Large Flowered Tickseed.  I took a few images of them and I liked this one with the group up front and then several more providing some lovely bright bokeh.
