It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog! Today's image is one that I hope survived our winter. This is Nipple Cactus. It's height is only 1 to 4 inches and it usually blooms in May and June. It likes dry, rocky prairies and limestone soils. We were quite wet this year so I shall see if it survived, I hope so, I love it's blooms.
Nice blossom. A lot of people don't know about cactus blossoms. They are missing out on a lot. I went to Anza-Borrego and Joshua Tree Parks in 1998 to catch the blooming. Sure was nice
ReplyDeleteI know. Cactus blooms are gorgeous. Wish I had more.
