It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Today's image is of one  I rarely see because they are only open during the early morning.  This is a Venice Mallow which normally blooms from July through September.  It is also called a Flower of An Hour because of the brief time it blooms.  The seeds from this flower can be viable for years so can be problematic in that it will keep regrowing.  I think the flower is fairly lovely.  This is a 2 image stack to get them both in focus.

  1. Hadn't heard of these guys. Only open for a few hours in early morning, not sure what pollinators are up then.
I liked the wild African daisies when we were in South Africa. They don't open until around 9am and won't open if it is windy - a flower you can sleep in by!!

    1. I like those too! Didn't remember that about them. I loved your images of them in the wild. Very beautiful.
