It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog! Today's flower is one of the late bloomers here in Kansas. This is Blue Sage also called Pitcher Sage. It can bloom from July to October but it seems to mostly be seen, at least in my area starting in September. It is in the mint family and is nutritious for livestock. It is named for Dr. Zina Pitcher, a US Army surgeon and botanist.
