1/31/22

Happy Monday!  I wanted to start the week off with something bright and cheery as it looks like we are heading into some dreary weather.  These are a flower I like a lot but don't grow myself because their bulbs won't survive our Kansas winters and I am too lazy to dig them up and replant every year.  Being honest here.  😀  I took this image at Hershey Gardens in Pennsylvania this past July.  They had lots of lovely ones there in different colors.  They are called Dahlias.

  1. A lovely cheerful way to enjoy the day

Do the squirrels dig up your bulbs? I tried begonias but gave up feeding the squirrels. They go after our tulip bulbs too

    1. Thank you Jim! Yes, I have to put bulbs like tulips and crocus inside of screen type material like small chicken wire. That stops them.

  2. These are gorgeous, Shelly! We have to dig ours up and then replant every year, as the winters would kill them. But it is so worth it! Those are very cheering, thanks for sharing!

  3. I'm like you Shelly, can't be bothered with the work involved with bulbs. I do love the flowers they produce but viewing them on your blog , is just a good.
