I am starting off my bird photos for the year with one that is hard to capture because it rarely sits still. This is a Tufted Titmouse that I was able to get one day when it paused in the Mulberry tree just long enough for a quick close up.

It's Friday, TGIF! This is a capture I was able to get late this winter of a pair of one of my favorite birds. These are a couple of Titmouse (Titmice?) birds that were sitting in the Mulberry tree in-between hitting the feeder for seed. I chose this image for the lovely bubbly bokeh behind because Friday's Are Bokehlicious as well!

I have been capturing the birds in my backyard as well as the hawks. I captured this Titmouse last month while it was deciding when to go down and get some seed below. They usually don't sit still for very long but I got lucky.

So we are bitter cold today with the temp when I left for work of -1. Crazy for March. Hope this is the end of it. With all the snow we have been getting it provides for opportunities to photograph birds in it. This is a Tufted Titmouse sitting in the Mulberry tree during one of the recent snows.

A bit more rain today though we missed the bulk of it which is good, we have had enough for a bit I think. My image today was taken this winter and I got lucky that this Titmouse sat and posed for me out the window for a few shots. It's rare when they sit still but this one was quite the poser.

I find these birds difficult to photograph most times. They are like Chickadees and always moving around it seems. I got lucky last week and this one posed for a few moments so I was able to capture a couple of close shots of it. It's a Titmouse, not sure how to tell if it's male or female but I find them fun birds to watch.

Well, the rain last night was quite the joke. Sigh. Didn't even wet the seed I had planted. Today's image I played for Bird Poker over on G+ because the theme for the week was Bird named after a Body part. I thought Tufted Titmouse fit sort of. As I mentioned there, I liked the image so you get to see it as well. :-)

Well, June is here already and official starts the summer since summer work is in full swing now even though the actual day is a few days away yet. It was a lovely sunny one but clouding up a bit at this time. My image is back from very early Spring with this Tufted Titmouse who posed so nicely for me. Usually they are flying from one place to the other or busy eating so it's hard to get an image of one sitting still. I got very lucky with this shot. :-)

I had posted a photo a couple of weeks ago of a Tufted Titmouse with a peanut in it's beak. This photo shows that they actually do eat them. I had originally bought the peanuts with the thought of feeding blue-jays but so far it's these Titmice that are getting the most of them. It's cute to watch them breaking the shell open to get at the peanut. It's fun to watch them come get them too. The peanut is so big in comparison, a lot of the time they drop them as they try to fly off with it and then have to go pick it up again.

I finally got a decent photo of a Tufted titmouse. As you can see I had to bribe it to get a shot though. I put peanuts out for the Blue-jays but lately it is the Titmice that have been enjoying them. Looks big for it but they sit in the tree and break them open and enjoy them and I like them so it's all good. :-)
