 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the blog!  One of my favorite flowers is blooming right now, Queen Anne's Lace.  I had transplanted some to one of my gardens a couple years ago and these do not have the tell tale red spot on them able to be seen well.  This does seem to be fairly normal as even on the Kansas Wildflower's Page there are photos where it is not prominent.  They are in the Carrot family and usually bloom June through September so mine are quite early this year.  They are a biennial plant and spread by seed.  I find them very photogenic.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Today's flower is another of my very favorite wildflowers, Queen Anne's Lace.  It is named for the red spot that is usually found in the center.  For some reason, my group of them did not have a very prominent spot this past year.  It is in the Parsley family and usually blooms June to September.  I find them very photogenic.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  One of my favorite wildflowers is in bloom and I have a pretty good patch of them.  These are Queen Anne's Lace at a couple different stages.  These don't seem to have the prominent red spot that gives them their name in the center.  They are in the Parsley family but are also known as Wild Carrot.  They usually bloom June through September.  I think they are very photogenic flowers.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  One of my favorites that I find very picturesque is beginning to bloom in my area.  This is Queen Anne's Lace which usually blooms June through September but was already blooming on the 20th of May.  They are also called Wild Carrot and are part of the Parsley family.  It can be an aggressive invader crowding out other flowers.  It does not seem to do that in my area, I actually wish it would spread a bit more where I have it planted.  😁

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog and the first one in a full week of the new year!  Continuing on the start of the new year with another favorite of mine, Queen Anne's Lace.  It's a very photogenic flower I think and is in the Parsley family.  It usually blooms June through September and is a biannual that can be an aggressive invader, it reproduces by seed.  It's originally from Eurasia and was imported by early settlers.

 Happy Friday, TGIF!  Today's image is of one of my favorite wildflowers to photograph.  I think it is interesting from all different angles.  This one was in the process of fully opening and blooming and was lit very nicely.  Sharing today for the great bokeh it has because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Today's flower is one of my favorites and is actually growing in my garden because I collected some seeds and spread them there.  This is Queen Anne's Lace.  It blooms June through September.  This particular bloom shows off the red spot that helped give it it's name.  It is supposed to resemble a drop of blood that Queen Anne supposedly shed when she pricked her finger while sewing some lace.  It is in the Parsley family and is also known as a Wild Carrot and can be an aggressive spreader.  It is one of my favorite flowers to photograph.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Today's image is one of my favorites that I planted in my yard and seems to have survived.  This is Queen Anne's Lace.  These were not found in my yard though.  It has the red spot that is supposed to be the drop of Queen Anne's blood that dripped on lace she was making which is how the name came about.  It blooms June through September.  The blooms last a fairly long time compared to some other wildflowers.  It can be aggressive and crowd out other nearby plants.  It is in the Parsley Family.

 It's the last day of January and it's also Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Today's flower is another of my favorites.  This is Queen Anne's Lace.  This bloom has the very distinctive dark spot that gives the flower it's name as it is supposedly a drop of blood spilled while Queen Anne was sewing a lace doily.  I find it to be a very picturesque flower in it's various stages of growth.  It usually blooms June through September.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Today's flower is one of my favorites.  This is Queen Anne's Lace and this one shows off very well why it is named that.  It is named for the red spot in the middle of the lacey looking flower.  Some claim that Queen Anne pricked her finger while working on some lace causing a drop of blood to fall on it.  Queen Anne's Lace blooms from June through September and can spread quite a bit.  It is in the carrot family and is often called Wild Carrot.  I find them quite photogenic flowers.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Today's image is of one of my favorites.  This is Queen Anne's Lace.  I planted some of this last year from seed I had collected from some near me and I saw that it seems to have survived and is coming up.  I am looking forward to it blooming this year, it doesn't bloom until the second year.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  Today's flower is one of my favorites that I was able to get to grow in one of my gardens.  This is Queen Anne's Lace, also known as Wild Carrot and is a biennial.  The plant is high in sugar, second only to the beet in root vegetables.  They are very hardy and thrive in dry climates so they should do well for me as we have been very dry lately.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  This is one of my favorites.  I planted some seeds this spring that I had collected from ones growing in the area and they actually came up.  I was very happy to see it flowering now.  I hope it spreads where I put it, I would love to see that area covered in Queen Anne's Lace.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday on the Blog.  It's also a double digit day.  😄 The Queen Anne's Lace has really exploded around here.  I am growing some but it has not gotten large enough to flower yet, I started it this spring from some seeds I collected.  I hope it does as well as the others in the area.  I find it very photogenic.

 It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog!  The wildflowers in this area are just about done for the year.  I was surprised to see this one blooming in this area this year.  I had never noticed it before and it may just have been a really good year for it.  This is Queen's Anne Lace and it is one of my favorites to shoot, I find it very photogenic.  There were still a few groups of it blooming last week but this is an older shot of it from earlier this year.  This image shows it before the flower head has fully expanded and I love the bits of pink in it.

Well, it's Friday the 13th today which is usually considered a day to be bad luck.  I am writing this a bit earlier than it's posting time so don't know the outcome of the whole day but I hope it doesn't hold true.  It's usually a good day for me and I am hoping that holds as I have had enough bad ones this week to make up for it.  Anyway, on to the photo.  I took this on my trip to South Dakota this past summer on a very dreary day.  I made it appear even darker and more dramatic with a bit of post processing.  This is a macro of a Queen Anne's Lace bloom.
