It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog! Today's image is one that has been blooming the past few weeks. This is Pink Smartweed and can be found from July to October. In my area this year, I have only seen it in October. It is in the Buckwheat family. I am not sure where it's name comes from.

Today's date is a palindrome date. 😀 It's also Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog! Today's flower is Pink Smartweed, a fairly new one for me. I haven't been able to find out why it is called Smartweed. It blooms July through October in moist disturbed areas like ravines and streams. It is in the Buckwheat Family.

It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog! Today's flower is Pink Smartweed. This is a flower I first found in our area last year, but, as much as there is around I just must not have been in the right place at the right time. I took this photo on Monday afternoon before our first hard freeze that night. It usually flowers from July to October and is in the Buckwheat family.

It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog! Today's flower is a new one and I have updated the Wildflower By Color page here on the Blog with a photo of the plant which is a bit further away so more detail can be seen. It grows best in moist disturbed places like ditches and by ponds and small streams which makes sense as I found it around the disturbed area of our new high school's road. It blooms from July through October. Birds enjoy the seeds from this plant. It is called Pink Smartweed.
