Today's image is more birds that I was able to observe this Spring.  These are Northern Shovelers that were in a small pond that I spotted while on a bike ride once again.  I believe they were just passing through because I don't see them regularly but could be wrong.

Today's image is more ducks!  😁  I captured these out at Milford Lake while on a bike ride.  I loved all the action in it though I found it quite silly that they felt the need to get away from me, I was not all that close.  There were some Buffleheads and Northern Shovelers in this group and maybe some others.  I like how a couple look like they are running across the water.

Today's image is more ducks from this Spring.  I was lucky with several chances to view various ducks as they traveled through the area.  I was able to catch a fairly close shot of these, Northern Shovelers, I am pretty sure, as they took off from the pond they were on.

I have been able to see a large amount of ducks in our area this spring.  This is a pair of, what I think, are a male and female pair of Northern Shovelers.  They were on a pond I ride by that seems to be a good spot for ducks but they have a tendency to fly off when I stop to photograph them.  That will probably be a future image.  😏

While on a bike ride this past weekend I observed some Mallard ducks (Edit: Found out from a friend that these are actually Northern Shovler ducks due to the amount of white on them and their bills are too big for a Mallard) on a small pond and stopped to take some photos.  A bunch of them weren't thrilled and took off and kept flying around the pond.  I was able to get this shot while they were doing it and I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

If you are curious what they look like up close, here is the link I was provided and he was quite right on the ID: guide/Northern_Shoveler

We had some interesting birds in the area this spring that I had never seen before.  This is an in-flight shot that I had captured and never shared before but that I thought had turned out pretty well.  I believe it is a Northern Shoveler duck.

This duck is another first for me, I had no idea we even had these around.  I spotted this one at the big pond I have started walking to on the weekends not too far from my house.  This is a Northern Shoveler male that I captured as it rose up and flapped it's wings a bit before settling back down.  A stretch for ducks?
