Today's image is going back in the archives quite a bit, as will most images from this point on due to this wacky year and not being able to do steamy things. This is another image from the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, it's a beautiful, well set up and displayed museum and you should go when it opens again, it's well worth the trip. This is North Pacific Coast Railroad No. 12 Sonoma built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1876. The locomotive has been restored by the museum, after acquiring it in 1978, to it's as built appearance.

It's Steamy Sunday on the Blog once again! This image goes back a bit in my archives. I took this image on a trip out to California one year and at a visit to the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento. This museum had lovely presentations of locomotives in great displays like this one of the Governor Stanford seeming to emerge from a tunnel. This locomotive was built in 1862 and was from the Central Pacific. You can read much more about it at the Museum's website. https://www.californiarailroad.museum/visit/exhibits The museum is another of many in need of donations as it has been closed due to the Co-vid situation.
