It's Wildflower Wednesday here on the Blog! This week's flower is New England Aster, I believe. Some are hard to tell apart but the leaves and plant in general seem to match. I captured these at the Discovery Center in Manhattan a little over a week ago. They were attracting some bees and Monarchs which was great. Their normal bloom time is September and October. They can grow to 6 feet high which a lot of these were.
Ours seem to be finished now. I call them fall asters, but they are also known as Michaelmas Daisies as well.
ReplyDeleteI did find a few blooms of bread and butter yesterday and a small chicory yesterday - no others
Yes, everything seems to be about done now. Winter is coming whether we like it or not.
