It's Steamy Sunday here on the Blog once again!  Dipping into the archives again to a trip to Colorado.  This image is of Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad locomotive number 1819.  It is a Prairie type 2-6-2 that was build in 1906 by Baldwin Locomotive Works.  It currently sits on display in Lamar Colorado and is much more rusty these days.  Hopefully they will do some cosmetic work to it soon before it gets beyond repair.  Back when I saw it several years ago it looked much better, it had some rust but not too extensive.

  1. Nice shot. Hopefully, it'll get a touch of new paint soon.

Just in case you aren't aware, UP 4014 is hitting the rails again this summer. It'll be passing through Kansas a couple of times, going to KC and down to TX. Then back through Kansas after coming through St. Louis and KC.

    2. Hope you can get some good shots of 4014. I'll be looking forward to them. I won't be able to see it in person this time, due to the family moving the state of New York at the end of the month.

    5. Nice area. I had relatives up near there in the tiny town of Fort Plain. Good luck with the move.
