Today's wildflower is another I seemed to have overlooked on my Wildflower Pages as i am sure I have taken a photo of this before. This is Dotted Gayfeather and it is just about past it's prime when I captured it in mid September growing on the land of the old schoolhouse I take care of the grounds for. It's main flowering period is August through September. It is also called Blazing Star. It can have a very deep tap root making it very drought hardy.
Lovely capture. The subtle colors of the flowers is very nice.
