I have not been seeing many butterflies this summer.  I would see one once in a while flying through the yard but not stopping.  This Giant Swallowtail finally was one that stayed around a bit and chose to feed from the Zinnias as opposed to the other flowers I have growing.  I have always said, if you want a very cheap, that you can grow from seed easily, flower for butterflies, Zinnias are it.  There is also a Silver Potted Skipper enjoying them as well.

It's Friday, TGIF!  I haven't been seeing many butterflies, as I have mentioned, but lately the Skippers are showing up a bit.  I captured this one on a Teasel bloom not long ago.  Love the bubbly bokeh in it so sharing for today because Friday's Are Bokehlicious!

Happy Monday and happy new week!  Starting off the week with one of my favorite flowers.  This is called by several names, Butterfly Bush or Buddleia or Buddleja.  It can be considered invasive because they can spread and disrupt local ecosystems.  Mine are contained and have not spread and the Skippers really enjoy them.  They don't serve as a host plant so that is another reason they are not desired these days.  I grow the correct kind of Milkweed as well so that's why i don't feel too bad about having this as well.  😅

Happy Monday and new week!  Today's image is of one type of insect that I did see a lot of this summer.  These are in the butterfly family and are known as Skippers due to their quick darting habits.  This is a Silver Spotted Skipper that was visiting my Echinacea or Cone Flowers in my garden.

It's Friday, TGIF!  Friday's Are Bokehlicious and I have a photo to share with my favorite bokeh, the bubbly kind, for today.  This is a Silver Spot Skipper on my Butterfly Bush or Buddleja this past summer.
